Thanksgiving Recipe Round-Up

Thanksgiving Recipe Roundup

With each passing year it seems as though time passes more quickly than the last. I especially notice this around the holidays and with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I’m wondering how it is this time of the year already. What I can say is that I’m pretty excited about it – I mean this holiday revolves around eating some of the most delicious foods! Stuffing and cranberries and mashed potatoes, oh my!

In the world of food blogs, Thanksgiving means sharing bunches and bunches of recipes fit for your holiday dinner table. In true spirit of giving, I’ve decided to share these recipes from some of my favorite blogs. Hopefully you can try one or two of them out at your table this year. Bon Appetit!

For those that want a lower calorie version of a classic dish, try the Lighten Up Fresh Green Bean Casserole from How Sweet It Is. It’s made with fresh green beans instead of frozen eliminating the problem of the dish still being too cold when the rest of the meal is done (does anyone else have this problem?).

Now we all know Turkey Day isn’t complete without stuffing. I highly recommend this Crock Pot Bread & Sausage Stuffing. One of my co-workers made it for our office Thanksgiving lunch and it was so delicious. Big pieces of bread and sausage with just the right amount of seasoning – especially the parsley.

Another fun twist on a classic dish, Bourbon Vanilla Cranberry Sauce. I bookmarked this one from Jenna at Eat, Live, Run as soon as I saw it; I just love her recipes. Anyway, as a former canned cranberry fan, I’ve recently found my favorite way to enjoy homemade cranberry sauce – on turkey!

What’s on your menu for this Thanksgiving?

MMMM!! Love these round-ups. My mom’s sweet potato casserole, with pecan/brown sugar topping is the biggest hit. I’ll be making that. Paula Deen would be proud.
